Responsible gambling: the rules and where to get help

Our site is about a hotel, but the hotel shares its name with a casino. If you go in, these are the things worth knowing.

Who may gamble in Ontario?

Adults 19 and over. The operator applies a firm 19+ policy at its casinos, uses ID scanners, and asks anyone who looks under 30 for valid government-issued ID. Gaming in Ontario is regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

You can call for yourself or for someone else whose gambling worries you. You do not need to give your name.

What if we want a break from casinos?

The operator runs a Voluntary Self-Exclusion programme that lets a person ban themselves from its casinos for a chosen period, and it keeps information centres and player health material on site. Ask a staff member or the guest services desk; the request is handled privately.

Some simple limits for a weekend

  • Decide the amount before you walk in, and treat it as the price of an evening out, gone once spent.
  • Leave cards in the room safe; every room type has one.
  • Set a time to leave, and keep it. The free shows at The Nest and a walk by the lake are good reasons to.
  • Do not gamble to win back losses, to pay bills or when you are upset.
  • Keep children with an adult who is not gambling; the operator's rules require it.

Our own rules

We do not describe games, odds or promotions, we do not link to gambling offers and we earn nothing from gambling. Our income comes only from room bookings, as our commercial model explains.
