A gym, a business centre, and no pool

What is in the gym?

The hotel describes a well-equipped gym with a treadmill, an elliptical trainer, free weights and a functional training machine. It is included with every room type. That is a hotel gym, not a health club: enough for a morning run indoors when the causeway is icy, not for a full programme.

The operator's house rules add two points that apply to all its fitness areas: you use them at your own risk, and children under 12 must be supervised by someone 16 or older. Pets are not allowed in the fitness centre.

Is there really no pool or spa?

Not on the hotel's own page, which is the source we trust. Some of the operator's general house rules talk about pools, hot tubs and spas, but those rules cover every hotel the company runs, including ones that do have pools. For this building, nothing is listed, and we have found no other official mention. If that changes, we will update this page.

For a spa afternoon, Scugog Tourism lists day spas in Port Perry, among them Revelation and Let's Glow Salon. We have not visited them; book directly and check what they offer.

What about working?

The business centre is open-plan, sits in the front lobby and is open 24 hours a day. The hotel says it suits interviews, video calls and team training. Every room has free Wi-Fi, a desk (an in-room workstation in the suite) and blackout drapes, so an early call before a lake walk is easy.

Can we book a meeting room?

Yes. The hotel page describes two flexible meeting rooms for corporate functions of up to 15 people, with secure high-speed internet, a large TV and monitors, whiteboards, flip charts, complimentary water and coffee, and catering on request. The destination page names them as the Crane Room on the third floor and the Eagle Room on the fourth, each for up to 20 people with high-definition screens. The two pages disagree on capacity; plan for 15 and ask about 20. Bookings go through the sales team. More on meetings and parties.
