What do we collect?

The form has a hidden field that catches automated spam; it holds nothing about you.
Who receives it?
Our booking desk. If you accept an offer, we pass your name, contact details, dates and requests to the hotel or the booking partner completing the reservation, and their own privacy policy then applies. Our hosting provider (DigitalOcean, server in Toronto) and our network provider (Cloudflare) process data on our behalf to deliver the site and our email. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for marketing.
Cookies, analytics and maps
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. On the home page, the Google map loads only after you press "Show the map here". On the getting-here page a Google map is embedded and loads as you reach it. In both cases Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. How long do we keep it?
Requests and emails are kept only as long as needed to answer, to follow up on a booking and to keep basic business records. You can ask us to delete your request at any time, unless we must keep a record of a completed booking.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it or withdraw your consent, which means we stop using it for that purpose. Write to hello@scugogislandescape.com; we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only. Access to requests is limited to the people who answer them. No system is perfect; if we ever learn of a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will tell you and the Commissioner as PIPEDA requires.
