From a board meeting to a wedding reception

Meetings, receptions and birthdays on the island

The property has three sizes of room for private events. Here is what each holds and what the operator includes, so you know which conversation to start.

Which space fits our group?

From the operator's pages, read 31 October 2026.
SpaceCapacityGood forWhat is mentioned
The NestUp to about 800Concerts, galas, corporate events, wedding receptions12,637 sq ft; layouts with round tables, theatre rows or general admission; open ceiling grid about 4.4 m; fully stocked bar

Crane Room and Eagle Room15 (hotel page) or 20 (destination page) eachMeetings, interviews, trainingIn the hotel, third and fourth floors; HD TVs, high-speed internet, whiteboards, flip charts, water and coffee, catering on request

How do we book?

All three go through the operator's sales team: the destination page gives sales@greatcanadian.com for The Nest, the meeting rooms and Water's Edge, and the hotel policy page lists gbh-sales@greatcanadian.com as the contact for the hotel. We do not book event spaces ourselves. What our desk can do is ask for a block of rooms for your guests once the event is confirmed; mention the event date and the number of rooms in your request.

Is The Nest really a wedding venue?

The operator says it is designed for live performances, corporate functions and "elegant wedding receptions", and lists photo shoots and TV commercials among the uses for the property's spaces. It is a large, flexible hall rather than a lakeside chapel; the lake views happen outside. For a smaller ceremony, Ocala Winery, which the hotel lists among local attractions, presents itself as a wedding venue.

Where will our guests sleep?

The hotel has 116 rooms, and the operator's house rules say group bookings are covered by a separate group contract on top of the usual rules. If your guest list is long, some guests may need rooms elsewhere: the township's tourism site lists The George Stanley Inn in Port Perry, the San-Man Motel on Highway 12, Birchwood Luxury Camping on the island and the Port Perry bed-and-breakfast association.

Anything else to check?

Children at an event are fine in the event spaces off the gaming floor, under the family policy's supervision rules. The whole property is smoke-free, inside and in rooms. And if your event night falls on a free show weekend at The Nest, the hall is booked; ask the sales team about dates before you print invitations.
