What did we see?
| Where | What is rated | Score seen | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Maps, place card "Great Blue Heron Hotel" | The hotel | 4.3 out of 5 | 31 October 2026 |
| Google Maps, place card "Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel" | The casino building and property | 3.8 out of 5 | 31 October 2026 |
On the same day, Google's hotel card labelled it a 4-star hotel and showed amenity icons for free Wi-Fi, free parking, air conditioning and breakfast. The star class is Google's own classification; the hotel does not advertise a star rating on its page, and breakfast is not mentioned there at all. The casino card listed the property as open 24 hours.
Why two scores?
Google keeps two separate places: one for the casino building, which is the card our map links use, and one for the hotel just south of it. Reviews on the casino card are often about the gaming floor, parking and the buffet; reviews on the hotel card are more likely to be about rooms and check-in. If you are deciding on a room, the hotel card is the one to read.
Why no quotes from guests?
Because we cannot verify who wrote them, and a guide that picks the nicest quotes is not much of a guide. We also do not have a stay of our own to report in detail, and we will not pretend otherwise. Our verdict is built from published facts, and it says where we are making a judgement.
How should we read 4.3 and 3.8?
As a rough signal, not a ranking. Scores on map cards move with every new review, they mix very different visits (a quick stop for the buffet, a wedding, a three-night stay) and they cannot tell you whether the room you get faces the garden. Read the most recent reviews, sort by lowest as well as highest, and look for patterns rather than single complaints.
Can we send you a rating?
Please do not send us reviews to publish; we would not print them. If something on this site is wrong or out of date, though, we want to know: write to the address in the footer, and we will check it against the source and correct it.
